About Mazda Part

Mazda vehicles have been around in Japan since the 1930s, but as standard four-wheel automobiles, they really only came into being in the 1960s. In the intervening decades, Mazda built its corporate base and manufacturing prowess to the point that it could seriously challenge the other major auto manufacturers in the 1970s. However, the brand was mostly unknown in the United States until the RX series of cars started making waves here.Mazda's reputation was largely built on their substantial use of rotary engines, as only a few of their models utilized traditional piston engines. That has changed over the years and now most Mazda engines are of the piston type. This has partly to do with some governing bodies in auto racing outlawing the use of rotary engines and partly to do with the reputation the engines had of being gas guzzlers. One other reason Mazda starting phasing out its use of rotary engines had to do with the simple fact that mechanics were less familiar with the engines, so many Mazda owners were limited in their options for service and repairs, and Mazda parts were often difficult to locate. For die-hard fans of the RX series, however, this was not a problem. Many of them simply became qualified, rotary-engine mechanics themselves. The most popular lines Mazda released were the 323s, the 626s, the RX-7s, and the Miatas. These cars helped Mazda make it through the lean times before Mazda became linked with Ford through corporate mergers and acquisitions. Mazda parts for these models are generally easier to find from more sources than those Mazda parts for some less popular models.
