Buick Skylark 1963

The Buick Skylark was made by the Buick department of General Motors in 1953. This car, along with two others, was especially made to commemorate Buick's 50 years in existence. Designed by Harley Earl, the cars were supposed to be of a limited edition. Among all the cars, the Buick Skylark was the longest-running model. The Buick Skylarks built in 1953 were convertibles that ran on a V8 engine and produced up to 190 horsepower. The vehicles gave a top speed of 100 miles per hour and also had a 12-volt electrical system. The interiors of the car were done in leather. Due to poor response, the company stopped production of the Buick Skylark in 1954. This was again continued in 1961. This time around, the car was formatted in a different way; one of the changes was that the Skylark logo was put on the front fender. The 1961 Buick Skylark ran on a 215-cubic-inch 8-cylinder that gave 185 horsepower. The 1963 model had a fine-tuned front engine. The car sprang to life with a 215-cubic-inch engine that churned out 200 horsepower. Moreover, the logos were placed on the vehicle pillars. The 1961 to 1972 models were full-sized cars available as two-door convertibles and coupes. Models after 1972 were more compact in size and also available as two-door coupes and four-door sedans. The production of the Buick Skylark continued till 1998.
