About Ford Falcon 1960

The Ford Motor Company is an American automobile company as Ford or 'Ford's'. The company has one of its subsidiaries in Australia, started in 1926, in Geelong. The Falcon, an original model from the US, became very popular in Australia. Approximately 4 million Falcons have been sold in Australia since 1960. The Falcon has a number of versions, such as sedans, two door hardtops, convertibles, station wagons, utility pick trucks, and panel vans. The Falcon has been used as a taxi and a police car in Australia and New Zealand. The Falcon was built in the 1960s. It was a compact car for Americans but elsewhere it was considered a mid-size car. The car was lightweight. Falcon was powered by a 90 hp (67 kW), 144 cubic inch, 2.4 liter, straight-6 engine. It had a single barrel carburetor. The suspension installed in the car was fairly standard. The construction was unibody. It had coil springs in front and leaf springs in the rear. The Falcon was installed with a 2 to 3-speed automatic transmission. This was a six passenger vehicle and the interiors were decent. The Falcon's 1960 model was available as either a two'door or a four-door sedan. It was also available as a two- door or four-door station wagon. The base of the Falcon was similar to the Ford Ranchero. The Falcon had its own unique grille, tail light, and external trim including the red maple leaf insignias. The Australian version of Ford Falcon, which was released in 1960, was called the XK Ford Falcon. There were limited options as far as color and the features offered were concerned in 1960 version of Falcon as compared to its later versions.
