About Ford Mustang

When you think of the definition of an American muscle car, it's hard not to include the legacy of the Ford Mustang along with the GTO, Firebird, Corvette, and Camaro. Since 1964, the Mustang has defined the meaning of on-road 'cool.' It, perhaps more than any other muscle car, has always had a very unique design. In addition, Mustangs have always been produced to top-notch specifications, which have ensured their survival both in brand and in spirit.Until the Mustang, the muscle cars of the 1950s and early 1960s were big and bulky. Powerful, yes, but they also were large and difficult to maneuver. The idea behind the Mustang was to mass-produce a smaller and more compact muscle car (and, in doing so, work to change the public's perception about muscle cars in general). The Mustang accomplished this. Throughout the 1960s and 70s, they were a staple of the muscle car elite. The Mustang Convertible is a particularly beautiful example.A few special models came out of the Mustang family. The most famous, the Shelby Mustang, is a rare fast-back muscle car jointly designed by Ford and Shelby. The Mustang GT has, in recent years, become the norm for Mustang owners who prize power and handling above all else.Mustangs have been a part of our muscle car dictionary for over 40 years. As you can imagine, there is a lively market for used Mustangs as well as new ones. Because they are made so well, an online auction is a good place to start looking if you're interested in buying a classic (or new) Mustang.
