About Volvo P1800

The P1800, a sports car manufactured by Volvo, made its debut in 1961. The Volvo P1800 gained popularity because of its appearance in a television show, 'The Saint', starring Roger Moore. The car has pleasing looks with fins, a curved side spear, and a split front bumper. Mechanically, the Volvo P1800 was introduced with a 1.8-liter B18 engine, which could zoom from 0-60 mph in just around 13 seconds. The live rear-axle, front disc brake, and rear drum brakes are installed in the Volvo P1800. The interior looks more like an American car of the 1950s, with a two-spoke steering wheel, plenty of chrome, and stylized gauges. The leather seats are comfortable with standard adjustments and rudimentary lumber feature. The next updated model of the Volvo P1800 was the 1800S, which was introduced at the end of the 1960s. This Volvo model had a different grille, side trim, and no upward side spear. Changes were also made in the chassis and engine. The two-liter B20 engine now became part of the 1800S. The engine is combined with the Bosch electronic fuel injection system, which enables the car to accelerate 0-60 mph in less than 10 seconds. The model was made available with an option of alloy wheels. Toward the end of 1971, the Volvo P1800 series was joined by a coupe, the 1800ES. This model sported convenience features such as passable back seats. Few changes were made to the exterior of the 1800ES. The engine was almost the same as that used in its predecessor. The I4 B20B engine with solid valve lifter generated 130 BHP at 6000 RPM.
