Finding quality land for sale can be a challenge. Throughout the country, people have already built homes and other buildings on most land suitable for development. The good news, however, is that, since most individuals interested in purchasing real estate don't want to bother with the process of constructing new buildings, the competition for any individual undeveloped lot is likely to be less intense. Who Buys Land for Sale? The other individuals who buy land for sale are those who feel it is a good investment. While investing in the stock market can be a tricky move, purchasing property, especially property that doesn't require a lot of upkeep, can be an excellent way to invest one's money. Whether it be a vacant lot, farmland, waterfront property, or lakeview property, the chances are good that someone will want it later on and you'll be able to sell for a profit. In addition to purchasing undeveloped land from private or commercial parties, you can also buy land for sale from the government. Though the days of the Homestead Act and the inexpensive land that came with it are over, the United States government still owns about one-eighth of the land in this country and they are willing to deal with prospective buyers. However, the BLM (Bureau of Land Management) will only sell land that can serve some sort of public objective, land that was acquired for a particular purpose but is no longer needed, or tracts that are isolated and hard to maintain. |
