Abu Garcia is a fishing equipment and fishing reel manufacturing company established in 1921. It originally manufactured telephone timers, watches, and taximeters. The Swedish company is known for its high performance and durable rods, reels, and lures. The equipment is so designed to suit all types of fishing activities. During World War II, there was a shortage of fishing reels, a situation that prompted the founder's son, G'¶te Borgstr'¶m, to start manufacturing fishing reels. The first fishing reel ever produced by the company was in 1941. The famous Ambassadeur reel was made in 1952, and the Cardinal spinning reel in 1965. The Abu Garcia 6000 has five-ball bearings and a new grooved spool made of aluminum. The handle is made of aluminum too, and provides good grip. It comes with a dual ball-bearing worm kit; the shaft is supported on both sides by an ABEC bearing. The reel is equipped with rocket centrifugal breaking system and a Power Winch retrieve gear system made of tensile brass. The Smooth Drag washer system produces a massive drag tension with the slightest of dragging. The aluminum handle is light to use and the nut attached to it keeps the handle in place. The Anti-Reverse system in the reel makes it swift and sturdy. The reel has synchronized level wind system, line-out alarm, and good line capacity. Apart from Abu Garcia 6000, the company manufactures various other fishing reels, equipment, and accessories. |
