Airsoft
Airsoft is a game where players participate in reproductions of combat scenarios. They use Airsoft guns; unlike paintball guns, Airsoft guns leave no visible marks of being hit. These games are played on a. honor system where once a player is hit, he/she will honestly raise their hand and yell 'hit' to declare the same. Highly popular in Asian countries such as Japan, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and South Korea, these games are catching on in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Spain, Italy, and Denmark as well.
Airsoft guns are highly typical replicas of real firearms. They are divided into three categories: gas powered, electrical, and spring powered. Players may choose their Airsoft weapon according to the pros and cons that each category of Airsoft weapon offers. These include battery life, pellet magazine capacity, reliability, and range. Most popular choice in Airsoft guns includes the AR-15 and its variants: the G36 series, the MP5s, the FAMAS, and the Sig Sauer assault rifles.
Most Airsoft pellets weigh between 0.12 and 0.88 grams and measure approximately 6 mm in diameter. Variants such as 8 mm pellets are also utilized according to preference. Popular weights of pellets are between .20 grams and .35 grams. Some Airsoft guns can even shoot paintballs, though they need to be used with caution as they can cause damage to the gun. Hop-up devices cause the pellets to fall less over an estimated distance due to the additional spin feature. All Airsoft players are advised to be fully dressed in protective gear before engaging in an Airsoft game.
