Figure Skates

Figure skating is one of the most popular sport as well as a recreational activity. It involves singles, a pair or a group of people gliding over the ice performing spins, and jumping. The latest innovation in the skating boots is that these boots have hinges near the ankles. The hinged ankles provide sideways support as well as flexibility to the skater. Another important part of the figure skates is the blade. The skate blades are generally made using the tempered steel, which is covered with superior quality chrome. The blades are around 3/16 inch thick, and are slightly curved. The curved surface forms a circle with a radius of 180-220 cm. The blade has a groove on the bottom, which has two edges, internally, and externally. These blades are shaped like parabola, which help in making the skater stable on the ice. The skaters can buy the skates and the blades separately. Both, the skates and the blades can be customized according the skater's comfort levels. The figure skates are available in different colors, and are styled differently for men, women, and kids.
