It goes without saying that golf shoes must be comfortable for your feet. Obviously, you want to buy shoes that are within your budget. However, you also need to choose a shoe that fits your playing style. When considering a specific golf shoe, whether it be Nike golf shoes, Etonic, or Footjoy, make sure that it has adequate foot traction and grip. The better golf shoes also have extra support on the heels to provide greater stability. This grip is not only important during the golf swing. It provides good traction as you walk through the golf course. Most courses no longer allow metal golf spikes. For this reason, the metal- spiked golf shoes of yesteryear have been replaced by modern shoes with short plastic prongs on the sole for traction. Some models are made with replaceable prongs. This is a very practical purchase if you frequently play golf. If you usually play your golf game in a wet climate or in the early morning when the grass is damp, consider paying more for a waterproof model. Cold wet feet will obviously be uncomfortable, and this discomfort will have an adverse effect on your playing style. Look for shoes with a Gortex liner to keep your feet dry. |
