Treadmill
Joggers and walkers are bound to be disappointed if the day is scorching hot or if the weather outside is wet, making the road slippery and muddy. Late nights may not permit many to wake up early; sometimes, work might take up the whole evening, leaving them with not enough time for exercises. Hence, a treadmill is a good solution for such situations. Unlike exercise cycles, treadmills are light-weight and compact; they can be folded and stored beneath the bed or behind the cupboard. Hence, they don't take up much needed space. One can walk, jog or run indoors, with the help of a treadmill which is a type of indoor exercise equipment. A treadmill has a conveyor belt, over which the exerciser walks, jogs or runs. Conveyor belts can be enabled by a flywheel or motor. If the conveyor belt is enabled by a flywheel, its pace of rotation depends on the pace of the walker. In case of a motor-enabled conveyor belt, the belt rotates and walkers are required to match their pace to the speed of the conveyor belt. The latest treadmills have electronic calculators which help one determine the distance run, calories lost and similar details. People who are aged or those with arthritis are expected to walk, but are likely to trip and fall while walking on uneven ground. A treadmill helps eliminate such accidents, since it provides a thoroughly even surface. Today's treadmills permit multi-tasking; while walking, jogging or running, one can watch TV, read a book and attend to the doorbell. A treadmill is also a wonderful option for mothers who cannot leave their kids behind unattended.
