Based in the Dallas Texas metropolitan area, the Dallas Cowboys are a professional football team. Currently members of the Eastern Division of the NFC in the NFL, the team play their home games in the suburb of Irving. The Cowboys joined the NFL in 1960 as an expansion team and are sometimes referred to as 'America's Team'.

In 2003, Bill Parcells came out of retirement to coach the Cowboys and posted a 10-6 record and a Playoff berth with the best overall defense in the NFL. Before the 2005-2006 season, the Dallas Cowboys improved their defense with their first round draft picks DeMarcus Ware and Marcus Spears. Owner Jerry Jones also drafted veteran players such as Jason Ferguson, Anthony Henry, and Scott Fujita in hopes of making the team a competitor. When the Dallas Cowboys first took the field in 1960, the team's logo was a simple blue star. The cowboys wore blue jerseys with white sleeves and small stars on their shoulders. At present, the uniform consists of silver helmets, silver pants, and either white or blue jerseys. During the 1976 season, the team had red, white, and blue center stripes down their helmets which honored the United States Bicentennial. The Cowboys unveiled a white alternate jersey entitled the 'Double-Star' jersey in 1994. A variation on the team's jersey was even seen in the 1994 film 'Little Giants'. In the 2004 season, the Dallas Cowboys brought back their 1962 throwback uniforms which featured white helmets and pants for their Thanksgiving showdown against the Chicago Bears.
