The Denver Broncos became charter members of the American Football League in 1960. They are now one of five teams in the Western Division of the American Football Conference, playing at Mile High Stadium in Denver, Colorado. The early years were not impressive for the Broncos. In fact, their reputation was one of being perennial losers. The team received little attention in these early years. Then, in 1970, the Broncos became part of the National Football League as a result of the NFL and the AFL merger. During this decade, the Broncos showed steady growth and improvement. While under the coaching of Red Miller, the Broncos won a 12 game franchise record. In 1977 the Broncos advanced to the Super Bowl, but lost to the Dallas Cowboys. A pivotal game in the Bronco's history came when they tied with Oakland in 1973. This was during Denver's first Monday Night Football appearance. The other pivotal time in Bronco history was the signing of quarterback John Elway. Elway, who led the Broncos in successive Super Bowl championships in 1997 and 1998, was originally drafted by the Baltimore Colts. Elway declared he would give up football if he wasn't allowed to sign on to teams on a list that he had made. Fortunately for the Broncos, they were on Elway's list. The Denver Broncos have sold out over 35 consecutive years, so availability of Broncos tickets is limited. Usually a set number of Broncos Tickets, mostly singles, are available at the start of the season. The other way of getting Broncos tickets is through secondary sources, like eBay Tickets and StubHub. Some excellent tickets are available through online auctions, since many season ticket holders make their seats available. See More Broncos Tickets at Stubhub! |
