Barney Laptop

Barney is a purple dinosaur, which was created by a teacher called Sheryl Leach, in 1987. It was created to entertain, and educate pre-school kids. Sheryl Leach along with another teacher Kathy Parker, and a video producer, Dennis DesShazer taped home videos featuring Barney, which were released in 1988. These home videos were sold in toy and video stores. Due to the rising popularity of these home videos, they were picked up by Public Broadcasting Service (PBS). PBS converted it into a children's series and called it 'Barney & Friends', which made its debut, in April 1992. The cast included Barney, his friend Babybop, BJ, and actual set of kids. The show focused on values like friendship, good manners, self-esteem, sharing, caring for others, and respecting others. 'Barney & Friends' was produced by Lyrick Studios, which is a United States based entertainment company. This company sells Barney merchandize like videos, DVDs, books, and toys. Barney Laptop is one such toy that is meant for pre-school children. This laptop helps the kids to learn numbers, colors, and shapes. It comes with 5 double-sided learning cards. These learning cards have pictures, and help the kids to understand shapes, and colors. The laptop is equipped with a storage slot to store these cards. In addition, the laptop features over 110 questions with prompts. It even has Barney's recorded voice to amuse the kids, and also some recorded music. Another important feature of the laptop is that it turns off itself when it is not in use. This feature helps in increasing the battery life. The laptop is light weight, and has a handle to carry it around. This laptop is available in vibrant colors. Other Barney merchandize includes games, bags, books, toys, stuffed toys, clothes, DVDs, CDs, and cassettes. 'Barney & Friends' is telecasted in over 100 countries and is still popular among kids.
