In 2002, Family Fun Magazine chose the Old Century Classic game of Old Century Baseball as a 'toy of the year' finalist. This game, which is at once an homage to America's pastime and a great game of pinball, is perfect for kids ages eight and up. It harkens back to the era of family parlor games, but it's not overwhelmingly big--it measures 24' by 24' by 15'.
Levers on the pinball machine allow you to take both defensive and offensive roles. You can try to 'slug it' and hit home runs or play more conservatively and aim for singles and doubles. The board itself is made from strong, authentic pine, and there are few moving parts outside of the machine. You can keep track of your score with handy old-fashioned scorecards.
