The Traxxas Revo, introduced in 2004, is a 1/10 scale, nitro-powered radio-controlled monster truck. It has a TRX 2.5 racing engine that can achieve speeds of 40 miles per hour or more. The E-Z Start electric starting system offers one-handed push-button ease, and has sensors and LED alerts to monitor the starting system. There's an auto-shifting two-speed transmission in both forward and reverse, with optional close and wide ratio gear sets. The microprocessor in the OptiDrive electronic shift modules constantly monitors speed to optimize shifting. Traxxas uses a rubber-sealed pivot ball suspension, which was an industry first, and has shown itself to be extremely reliable and nearly maintenance-free. Ball bearings throughout are also rubber-sealed. The 2006 Revo 3.3 has even more power, with a TRX 3.3 racing engine that can deliver 60 percent more peak horsepower. An additional 30 mm. of chassis length and two suspension rockers give it added stability in rough conditions. Both the Revo and the Revo 3.3 have larger fuel tanks, which allow for 15 minutes of uninterrupted run time, as opposed to 10 minutes for most other models. They are also designed for quick refueling without shutting the engine off. The Traxxas company was the first to introduce hobby-grade R/C vehicles fully assembled, rather than as kits. All Traxxas models are now produced in the Ready to Race format. Both the Revo and Revo 3.3 offer nearly unlimited options for customizing. |
