Resident Evil 4 is a widely popular first person shooter game developed and published by Capcom productions. Designed by Japanese mastermind Shinji Mikami, the game follows the adventures of a U.S. agent by the name of Leon Kennedy, as he goes on an uber-dangerous mission to retrieve the daughter of the U.S. President from a terror corporation based in Spain.Agent Kennedy utilizes a litany of weapons to plow through the bad guys, which include zombie-like livestock, angry vengeful kidnappers, and servants of the Illuminados. RE4 is actually the sixth incarnation of this survival horror series, and it picks up from where the previous two Resident Evil games left off. Due to its extremely fast and violent content (reviews contend that this game piles up a larger body count than most of the other RE games combined), it has received some tough ratings from advisory boards such as ESRB, PEGI, and OFLC.The game can be played on any number of platforms, including the PS2, Nintendo GameCube, and a Windows-based PC. It had its GameCube release in January 2005 and its Sony PS2 release in October 2005. Resident Evil 4 has won dozens of awards, including IGN's Best Graphics, Sound, Technological Excellence, and Action Game and The Golden Joystick's award for 2005 Game of the Year.Resident Evil borrows cinematic techniques, such as letter boxing and certain camera moves, to create an all encompassing movie-like experience for game players.
